Here are the various existing gold colors
Gold, being a very soft metal, cannot be worked pure, so it is necessary to combine it with other metals to obtain greater hardness and toughness.
Of all the metals, the most suitable for this purpose is copper. In addition to this, however, various other metals are used such as: silver, zinc and nickel.
Gold therefore, combined with other metals, takes on new properties, and at the same time new colours.
By observing the following table you will be able to easily understand the various colors that gold takes on and the quantity of metals (in thousandths) that compose it.
*The table refers to jewels with a fineness of 750
As explained previously, gold is not workable in its pure state, so it is alloyed with other metals. In alloys, the percentage of pure (fine) precious metal is indicated with the fineness .
In Italy, only the fineness in thousandths is used, for example with the 750 mark engraved on the jewel, the percentage in thousandths of the precious metal present in the jewel is indicated.
In some states the fineness is expressed in carats (Kt) or twenty-fourths, in this scale, pure gold corresponds to 24 carats .
We also remind you, if you need to purchase a jewel entirely in 18 Kt gold, rely on the Specialists!
